Lizzi Bougatsos talks to 2023 Editor-in-Residence Ruba Katrib about the importance of improvisation and ephemera to her multi-disciplinary practice, which spans music, sculpture, installation, and performance. In her installations, Bougatsos uses discarded or ruined materials from her personal archive as a dancer and singer, exploring the risk inherent to performing live.
